Welcome to the forum, If you have any questions just ask, and someone will be more then happy to help you.

There is a lot of information here on the forum, what I personaly found helpful was to get a book, and write things down.PRODUCTS, TOOLS, such as brushes combs, scissors, TIPS ON GROOMING, ect.

There is a lot you can learn, and this way it's easier to look back on.

welcome 3

First and foremost I think with the shih tzu they own you rather than you owning them  lmao

Secondly they are, in my mind at least, not purely a dog but a mix of dog, cat & old man!

We had a labrador before we got our shih tzu and I was quite surprised at how different they are in not only their looks but their natures.  The shih tzu seems to be a stubborn but very loving little dog and they are great companions and will give you lots of love as they love to just curl up on your lap.

They can be a bit slow to housetrain, not because they are not intelligent but because they just like to do things at their own pace and in their own way  Very Happy

As lily bell has already mentioned the grooming part is very important, even if you are going to keep your dog in a puppy cut there is the daily cleaning of the face and keeping the coat knot free. It only takes a matter of minutes each day once you get into a routine with it though.

Hi welcome he looks gorgeous Very Happy
Try and get a copy of Audrey Dadds book the shih tzu - the shih tzu owners' bible.

It will take a little while for you to get in the swing of things but once you do you will have a loving partner for the rest of your life wub

Just shout if you need any specific advice - and dig around on here as there is lots of useful help already here.

Lots of pictures please - need to keep my puppy fix up to date Smile xxxx

He is gorgeous.  I picked up my puppy at 9weeks old . She is now 14weeks old .

The first few weeks were hard but it is now a pleasure to have her.

I brush her everyday and wash her face and nether end and she looks forward to it because she knows she has a special biscuit after her groom.

She sleeps all night now which is a bonus. I spent the first few nights on the sofa so she didn't feel alone.

I am crate training her (well trying). I have never used a crate before but she seems to like to sleep there at night although she doesn't use it much during the day.

Can't wait for the warmer weather so we can go down to the beach.  My other two never liked it there much because it is quite pebbly but I will see how she goes.

I am sure you will have lots of fun with your little one. They do make you laugh a lot.
