i've had mine for around 7-10 days in the dogs cupboard and they've been fine.

Has anyone tried them with a different type of mince? I bought minced lamb today and was going to give that a go.

fourteen days was too long though as they got a bit furry then lol!

Should be good with any mince though I would probably not use butter with the lamb mince Kirsty as they may well be flooded with grease!

I am so glad you are enjoying my little recipe hmmm perhaps I should write a book.........oh I think I might need more than one Sad

Well, so far so good. I used Tesco value lamb and mutton mince, and didn't add any butter or eggs. Straight from the oven they went down a treat - even fussy Ivy was scoffing!

Going to try them a bit later now that they're cold, but they definitely have the thumbs up at the moment!

    Now.......what else can I use?!?!

Ok - the lamb/mutton didn't go down as well as the turkey. They are very crunchy and my three don't really like crunchy biscuits - but if I stomped on the biscuit until it was broken up they nibbled on the crumbs!

    Anyone want some to try?

I may well try them again but put a little butter or egg in it next time. But I don't think it was all down to that - perhaps they were a little overcooked for my little 'uns tastebuds!

Seriously though - if anyone would like 2 or 3 to try before you cook them, then please pm me with your address and I'll post them out first class.

I made these today and have to say that I almost fell over JOsh every time I went to check on them in theoven and he has had 3 even before they had cooled down lol!!

    TURKEY HOBNOBS

    500 g minced/ground turkey
    60g diced unsalted Butter
    2 teacups plain flour
    1 teacup oats
    1 egg

    • Rub in the butter and sieved flour.
Add the Oats and stir well
Add the ground turkey and mix well with your hands to work the turkey through the mixture.
      bind with a beaten egg
Knead and then roll out on a floured board to about 0.5cm thick then cut into shapes.
Bake on a lined baking tray at between 160 and 180 degrees C for about an hour until they are golden brown and hard.

    That's a copout!! lol!

BTW your babies will eat them however they turn out - I put some turkey pieces in the oven for Josh last night to cook for titbits and then completely forgot o I had. All evening I kept thinking hmm there is a lovely smell in here just like Christmas... it was only several hours later when I remembered - went running into the kitchen and lifted out the rather burnt brown hard offerings.... none the less this morning Josh was licking his lips and very happy when I offered him some of it lol!

I make these regularly for my gang, and they love them.

Lesley - your story made me laugh. I tried making liver cookies for my lot this weekend - put them in the oven and forgot about them. An hour an a half later I opened the oven door, and you could have used these cookies as marbles! I can't even break them by standing on them! Sasha is quite keen to try and lick them though!
