Hello All,

Thank you so much for the warm welcome. I am a mommy to a cut little 2 months 20 days old female Shih Tzu puppy called Peaches. I am based out of Bombay, India. I chanced upon this forum yesterday when i was researching as to why my puppy suddenly gets dizzy and her tongue turned white and grey...i was scared to death and then took her to the vet. He sent me back saying she is fine and gave her an injection for diarreah....today she is not eating, drinking water and hasnt pee'ed.....i am so worried and the vet doesnt seem to care at all Sad

Well i will be taking peaches to the vet again today....lets see what he has to say now.

A welcome from me also . Sorry to hear Peaches is not well, I hope the vet can help you better today. If you are still not happy with what he has to say I would look at a second opinion. Let us know how you get on.

Oh dear - I am so sorry to hear your worrying news and I do hope that the vet is more help to you today. If not is there another vet you can go to? Even if she is not drinking herself, make sure you are getting fluids into her by syringing cool boiled water into her mouth as little ones can get dehydrated so quickly. If you can get some diarolyte from the vet or make up a solution of saline I am not sure of the quantity of glucose (or sugar if no glucose available) I think it is1 tablespoon glucose to half teaspoon salt and a pint of boiled water then allow it to cool. this will keep her fluid level up.

The tongue colour is worrying and the dizziness - did she have diarrheoa?? It may well be she had a temperature and that could account for the other things. If this has happened more than once then it needs to be investigated.

I hope for your sake that everything is fine today - please keep us informed as I know we will all be worrying for you. Sending you and little Peaches lots of love xxxxx

Hello,

Thank you so much for all your wishes and advise. I took Peaches to the Vet and he said that sometimes when the puppies have fever they may get low blood sugar and may have fainting spell. She has resumed eating and biting my nose Very Happy . I have found a really nice vet who really put my mind at ease. She did have diarreah and for which the vet gave her an injection. The injection caused fever and ultimately her dizziness and discolored tongue.

Thank you all Smile)

So glad that it was nothing more than that - I thought it may well have been and young puppies are just like young babies and things can happen so quickly and be so scary when they do.

Your little one is absolutely adorable and I am looking forward to seeing her grow up and enjoying her with you xxxxx Welcome Trush_Pat 132239
