Suki and Ebony need a home
Suki is a 9 year old solid gold shih tzu and Ebony is a 13 year old lab cross whose owner has become ill and can no longer care for them. Friends of the Animals RCT is looking for someone to adopt Suki who would be prepared to take Ebony on long term foster as well (the girls must go together). Suki is the sweetest little dog one could imagine as she allowed me to sort out her very matted coat without any complaint even though she had a hairline fracture of the jaw. She has been spayed and a mammary tumour removed. Ebony has arthritis and is on metacam (her vets bills would be paid for by the rescue).
You can read about these lovely dogs here:- http://foa-rct.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=dogs&action=display&thread=6271&page=1
and can be seen in the Wales this Week program aired last night : http://www.itv.com/wales/wales-this-week55258/

Hi, I dont think they have been rehomed yet if you click on the link on the first post about them it takes you to the Friend of the Animals rescue site and you can read an update about them which was posted on the 18th April when they were still with a fosterer, you can find all the details about how to apply for them on that site as well x

Re: Suki and Ebony need a home
hi everyone
just thought i would let people know that weve just past the vet check and ebony and suki have been reserved for us .Now to pass the home check and work out a day we can go down and collect them. Anyone got a large garden to put up a tent for the night (we live in west yorshire) as hubby says he will do jurney there and back in one day. Cant wait to meet the dogs

Congratulatiions and good for you to give those older dogs a loving new home!

Re: Suki and Ebony need a home
Thanks
hopefully we will be able to collect them in a couple of week s time (work load stopping us going down sooner) cant wait to meet them and i havent told my two girls yet .My youngest who is four on the 20th of may has been saving her pennies up since loosing or old shih tzu mop in october so that she can find a new" mop mop type dog." I dont think the rest of us will get a look in once she sees suki, and lovely old ebony(or grandma as i keep calling her) can enjoy her retirement suning herself in our garden and being spoiled

Re: Suki and Ebony need a home
That is lovely and they will soon have a new life with you.I am sure they will settle in very quickly. Yes West Yorkshire is a long way to come to collect them from down here in South Wales,I am sure there are lots of places to Camp to give you the best possible start the next day to travel back home. Also Ebony and Suki will arrive at yours much earlier in the daytime to be able to settle in a bit before bedtime. Keep us updated. the pic is of Tasha yesterday insisting that she wore this rubber ring around her everywhere she went. Picking it up so that it would bend then flipping it over her head.

Yes you are right she has!!!
What have you noticed that I have clipped Tasha's Top Knot of nine months ? poor Tash it was driving her mad tying to get at it all the time and she always looked scruffy so I took to the clippers. Also when ever we went anywhere Iwas having to do it all over again which takes time.

Re: Suki and Ebony need a home
Oh it doesnt matter that you had to cut her topknot Carol, at least you tried to grow it and if she wasn't comfortable with it why make her suffer. She looks grumpy in the photo ...was it something that you said
or was she having a BAD HAIR day and you took the photo anyway.....naughty mummy !!!!!

No carole she just moved at the wrong moment . She is a little treasure really and ever so good even when she whinges which is very cute really as Mali doesn't do this she is very quiet not at all vocal like Tasha ,she even gets vocal when the two of them are having a play fight.

Hi Mop that is so exciting I have just checked with the AA and from West Yorkshire it should take about 4hrs 18mins and about 236 hrs. which is a long way but if your starting out that early the roads should be quiet for you to get a good head start. Keep us up to date.

Re: Suki and Ebony need a home
lol thanks for looking for me . we are hoping to be with everyone in wales at about 10ish which should give us chance to stop for breakfast and a toilet stop or two . the girls think its very funny cause they will be put in the van in their pjs and we will get them dressed and teeth done when we stop for breakfast
