Please can you give me some idea of where you would like to meet and what days are best for you??

Re: Get Together Suggestions
Hi I live near Cardigan. How about Pembrey or the Millenium Park Llanelli ? there are lots of open spaces for the dogs to enjoy. How about a picnic?
Re: Get Together Suggestions
well we had a very successful get together in Ruskington. Rusty was over the moon to meet her half sister Roxy and Roxy's companion Rooney (who I desperately wanted to keep!)
We have had the most wonderful afternoon watching our 'babies' run around in the sunshine. Me and Andy are now considering taking a male shih tzu as a companion for our Rusty Bear (not for breeding - just to keep her company) and ideally we are thinking of a rescue pup? Anyone with any suggestions please let us know!

Re: Get Together Suggestions
I would definately recommend a get together. It is great to sit and watch shih tzus play! Rooney and Roxy have the most adorable friend.
There are a few shih tzu rescue centres websites.
I am sure Lesley will recommend some!

Re: Get Together Suggestions
well here is a pic of our three having great fun today! What a wonderful afternoon watching them have so much fun! This is Rusty, Roxy and Rooney!
Re: Get Together Suggestions
Definitely a good idea, Josh and Simba had great fun playing with each other on Saturday. Pembrey would be good, because you have the woods to walk in as well, or Margam (as long as it isn't as hot as Saturday Lesley!)

Re: Get Together Suggestions
There are a couple of shih tzu rescue centres listed in the useful web links section - also Friends of the Animals RCT often have shih tzu in (particularly male ones) so you could keep an eye on them, Many Tears Rescue is another such place (they take in puppy farm breeding bitches and stud dogs and will only rehome with a family with another (neutered) dog/bitch - so you would fit the bill there too.weezy121978 wrote:well we had a very successful get together in Ruskington. Re: Get Together Suggestions
I don't know if you are aware but it is National Volunteer Week starting 1st June - 7th June (which is next week! )
FOA rct are having a local get together for anyone who is interested in volunteer work or interested in just dogs really!
It's being held on Thursday evening in Ynyshir School and starts at 7pm. there will be refreshments available and it would be lovely to meet some new, like-minded people.
I was thinking outside of the box, so to speak - maybe we could hold a rescue/shih tzu event?? Maybe like a sponsored walk or just a fun day??
I don't want to sound pushy but does anyone else think this is a good idea? Lesley???

Re: Get Together Suggestions
OK having met up with Missy Moos Dad and Mum today and the lovely Missy too, I have been prodded into action for a get toghether in thsi area so any of you interested in joining us please can you let me know which weekends are NOT suitable for you to give me an idea of when??
Also I am making the following suggestion depending on the sort of venue/walk you want:-
1) Cosmeston Lakes - there is a lovely grassy dog walk into the park and lots of tracks around where the dogs can have a run around and go off lead. Car Parking is free and there is a little cafe there and pubs nearby.
2) Porthkerry Park - large grassy area and woodland walks. Can be quite busy on a Sunday but the woods always seem to be empty There is a small Cafe (not much cop really) - parking on a Sunday is £2
3) Fforest Fawr, Tongwynlais - massive wood with lots of tracks if you really want a good walk. I believe that there is a cafe in the grounds of Castell Coch and pubs nearby. parking free
4} Marcross Beach - quite a walk but well worth it as once on the beach there are usually very few people there and the dogs can have a secure run around. Parking in a field - a short walk through a narrow lane leads to a wooded walk to the coast and then a scarmble over large pebbles to a vast beach. There is a fabulous pub nearby which serves excellent food though would need to book ahead.
What do you think???
Any other suggtestions

Re: Get Together Suggestions
I have found the website I was looking for, it's called 'Driving With dogs' it is full of useful information in case anyone has not heard of it. To subscribe to it and get more info on the actual walks and how to get there and the Sat Nav info it is £6.99 for a year, but I have done it so you can ask me if you need to know more. So now I am looking at Tredegar Park or Margam Park for our get to gether suggestions , it also has Pubs, beaches and lots lots more.
Re: Get Together Suggestions
Tredegar Park is even further away for you than Cardiff Carol and Tracy and I met up there once and it wasn't that good. Margam Park is nice (its a little bit further on for you Missy Moos Dad so see what you think) Though I am not too sure if we can allow the dogs to have a free roam there whereas Cosmeston they can be off lead if you so wish because it is well away from roads
Is it only 3 of us though?? Where are all the other people??????????
