Re: Hello Shihtzusrock79
sands-62, what part of Florida do you vacation at? I live on the gulf coast side on the panhandle. I actually lived in Indiana most of my life, and just moved down here to FL (a few days after i moved down here, the oil spill happened). I live pretty close to the beach, but there is oil washing up on the sand, and the water has it in it, so i havent been but once since i moved here. The heat here is insane. Im still trying to get used to it. Nice meeting you

Re: Hello Shihtzusrock79
Hi, welcome from us too.
We were in Florida April/May when the oil spill happened. We go most years but to the very touristy area of Orlando. Looking for flights now for next year and we are determined to see more of it, maybe even get a motor home for a week. Flights are amzingly expensive at the moment.
We need to know all about your shih tzu and photos please

Hi for several years we rented an apartment in St Petes Beach, we absolutely love Florida. We used to meet up with some people there every year that came from Claypool, Indiana, is that anywhere you know? Last year we rented a villa In Englewood but was a little too far from Tampa airport, so we will be looking nearer to Sarrasota we think next year. Yes the heat is unbearable we were last there in September and it was pretty hot then. I love the shopping in Florida and usually buy all my clothes there because they are so much cheaper and better than I can buy over here.
Re: Hello Shihtzusrock79
I love the shopping too, Mike loves the lovely hotels and Alex loves Pluto and Chip 'n' Dale so everyone's a winnner!

Re: Hello Shihtzusrock79
Tracy--A motor home would be so much fun! Then you could see whatever you wanted, and just stop and enjoy it. I would love to travel that way. My first time to FL, me & my mom went to Orlando, to Disney. You're right it is VERY touristy. And expensive.
sands62--I hadn't heard of Claypool IN, i had to google it to see where it was, lol. Kinda towards the northern part of IN. I moved from a town just south of Terre Haute, IN. Very small town. I actually had to google St. Petes, FL to see where that was at too. I haven't been there. Now, Englewood i have heard of. Seems like a very nice area. I definitely recommend visiting Key West. That it my favorite place in Florida! Total island feel to it, and beautiful. The water is just like you see in calanders, lol.
The area i live in is pretty new to me, i had never been to it before i moved down here, just kinda went for it. I was aiming for Panama City Beach, but ended up here instead near Pensacola Beach.
Hope you guys have a great weekend!! (sorry i couldnt quote & then answer...i couldnt figure out how to do it...or it wouldnt show up right when i hit preview.)

Tracy--I will definitely get some pics up soon. I have 3 dogs [2 shihtzus & a yorkie]. I actually just got my 2nd shihtzu about 2 weeks ago. My first shihtzu (the one in my profile pic, Hope) is such a good girl, that i had to have another! Im shihtzu addicted! My new shihtzu puppy is a doll. You forget how crazy and adorable they are when they are babies, until you have another. Her name is Cricket. I'll get pics up soon so you all can see.

Re: Hello Shihtzusrock79
Yes I have been to Key West that is an amazing place we spent about a week there before traveling back to St Pete's beach for another week and to meet up with my Son and now Daughter In Law for their wedding. Unfortunately I was unwell , I suffer from Vertigo(unbalancing- looks like I am drunk when walking hee hee!!) So doidn't appreciate that part of the vacation.ShihtzusRock79 wrote:Tracy--A motor home would be so much fun! Then you could see whatever you wanted, and just stop and enjoy it. Sands62--
Sorry you were unwell while you were there. It would be hard to enjoy it, thats for sure. I've heard of Vertigo, but not too familiar with it. Sounds like a pain. Hope you are doing well now. So nice chatting with you, have a good one.

Hello deanie--
Thanks for the welcome. Your baby shihtzu is adorable. My newest shihtzu is 14 wks old. Her name is Cricket. On the small side still (and im hoping she stays on the small side, as my other shihtzu is SOLID, lol). I love your pictures for your signature. I thought i had mine set up but i guess it didnt take. And i love love love the ticker. Hope you have a great weekend. Im just gonna try and avoid the heat. Its been in the mid to upper 90s here, with lotsa humidity. Blah. Have a good one!!

Re: Hello Shihtzusrock79
I wrote a reply to your message but seems it was lost somewhere from here to Florida.Vertigo is an unbalance and when it is bad everything swims around I cannot walk straight, look up or down as I may fall over . I never know when an attack will happen it usually starts at night then I can't ly down because I go all dizzy it usually lasts for about 24hours. Thank fully they are not happening too often now. But you can never be sure. My dogs had me up at 4.20am this morning so I guess it is the middle of the night with you. The weather is buatiful here gonna be ve very hot but not as much as Florida.
Re: Hello Shihtzusrock79
I can sympathise with you, I had labyrinthitis for over two years and couldnt go out of my own as I couldnt walk straight and would veer into things, I lost hearing as well, I still get the odd attack, I got Wispa when I was feeling better as I had lost my confidence to out on my own and am now a Shih Tzu convert lol x

I think labarynthitis is similar but I didn't lose my hearing thank fully. It is quite horrible when you have an attack.I thought loud noises may be a cause because we were at my Sons wedding party and the Disco was very loud and next morning I had an attack,
Re: Hello Shihtzusrock79
sands-62, love the paw pillow in your picture--it looks like the pups love it as well. Both of your shihtzus are adorable. I wish i could say that mine got along well enough to take a picture together, but im having a hard time getting them used to one another. My older shihtzu, Hope, acts like she will maybe tolerate her, but she still slinks around her growling. And my yorkie Zoey, acts terrified of her, and has also snapped at the puppy (cricket). I feel so bad. Im not really sure how to get them to accept Cricket. I really thought that my yorkie would love to have a playmate, because she is always trying to get my older shihtzu to play with her, usually with no luck. So, we'll see i guess. On a side note, vertigo sounds awful. Would be hard to go day to day, and not know when it was going to hit. And to Michele, labarynthisis sounds awful too. Im sorry that you guys have to deal with either one of them.

Re: Hello Shihtzusrock79
It must be a worry when you introduce another dog to a family. I have two and would like another. Mine are well socialised and seem to get on best with other shih tzus. Roxy sometimes takes a disliking to big scary dogs a tries to act big herself! I am sure they will come round soon.

Re: Hello Shihtzusrock79
Rooney&Roxey-- They are so cute! They look like little twins.
My oldest shihtzu is 9 y/o. And she is, honestly, one of the best dogs ive ever had. (and a big ham--loves her picture taken) So naturally, i wanted to get another one. Although i wanted one that would look different than her black and white markings. I really am going to figure out how to get a picture up here, if its the last thing i do!! lol--

Re: Hello Shihtzusrock79
And here is a picture of the new baby, Cricket. I feel like she is way more adorable than she comes across in her pics. But, im biased, lol. I wish i had a better one, but lets just say she is not as photogenic as her sis is (she is way too wiggly to get a good pic most times). Hopefully ill have better ones later. [img][/img]
